RoadSage

Intelligence Under the Hood

RoadSage is an open-source vehicle intelligence platform designed to continuously observe, learn, and analyze how a vehicle behaves in real-world conditions. Instead of relying solely on traditional diagnostic codes or post-failure alerts, RoadSage builds a dynamic understanding of each vehicle’s normal mechanical patterns over time. It processes real-time signals such as vibration, sound, pressure, temperature, and onboard telemetry to detect subtle changes that often appear long before a visible breakdown occurs.

At its core, RoadSage uses sensor fusion and time-series AI models to create a behavioral baseline for every individual vehicle. This means it does not assume all vehicles of the same make or model behave identically. Instead, it adapts to driving style, road conditions, load variations, and natural component aging. By comparing live data against this evolving baseline, RoadSage can identify early signs of degradation in systems like brakes, suspension, engine performance, transmission behavior, and steering response.

One of the key strengths of RoadSage is its diagnostic intelligence layer. When anomalies are detected, the system does not simply raise alerts—it attempts to explain what is happening and why. It can correlate changes across multiple systems to provide root cause insights and suggest likely maintenance actions, turning raw sensor data into meaningful, actionable information. Over time, this enables predictive maintenance, helping users address issues before they become safety risks or costly repairs.

RoadSage is also designed with a modern, modular architecture. It supports edge-based processing for real-time monitoring inside the vehicle, with optional cloud integration for long-term analysis and fleet-wide insights. Its plugin-based design allows the community to expand sensor support, add new AI models, and extend diagnostics into specialized areas. Built under the AGPL-3.0+ license, RoadSage is fully open-source and intended to grow through collaborative development and real-world experimentation.
