CargoSphere

Track Assets. Operators. Risk. Opportunity.

CargoSphere is an open specification for building modular commercial maritime intelligence platforms that provide a comprehensive view of port infrastructure, ownership structures, operational activity, trade relationships, and economic impact. Designed around a flexible architecture, CargoSphere transforms fragmented maritime, property, corporate, and trade data into a connected intelligence ecosystem. It enables organizations to understand not only where infrastructure exists, but also who owns it, who operates it, how it connects to global commerce, and what risks or opportunities exist within the network.

The platform is built around a series of core intelligence modules that establish a complete foundation for maritime analysis. These modules track port registries, physical assets, property records, ownership structures, operators, foreign participation, operational capabilities, and risk factors. The Asset Management Module provides visibility into docks, terminals, warehouses, rail connections, storage facilities, and other critical infrastructure, while the Ownership Intelligence Module maps corporate hierarchies, subsidiaries, investments, and control relationships. Together, these capabilities create a detailed picture of the physical and corporate landscape surrounding maritime commerce.

CargoSphere extends its capabilities through optional plugin modules that provide deeper commercial analysis. The Country of Origin Module analyzes international trade relationships, the Cargo Type Module classifies movement of goods and commodities, and the Industry Intelligence Module connects maritime activity to sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and logistics. The Trade Lane Module maps shipping corridors and supply chain dependencies, while the Economic Impact Module measures employment, investment, revenue generation, and regional economic contributions.

At the center of CargoSphere is the Maritime Relationship Graph Module, which connects ports, assets, companies, countries, industries, cargo, and trade lanes into a unified relationship network. This graph-based approach enables advanced discovery, ownership tracing, dependency analysis, and intelligence modeling that traditional databases cannot provide. By combining geospatial technology, entity resolution, data analytics, and AI-ready architecture, CargoSphere creates an extensible foundation for organizations seeking deeper visibility into maritime infrastructure and global trade networks.
