MoodBooster
Happiness, Served Daily.
Overview
MoodBooster is an open source, AI-powered self-awareness and positive-perspective application designed to help users reconsider negative interpretations, explore alternative meanings behind everyday situations, and develop a more optimistic outlook on life. Users can describe conversations, experiences, thoughts, or challenges and receive thoughtful, plausible explanations that may reveal a more positive or neutral perspective than their initial interpretation.
MoodBooster encourages users to distinguish facts from assumptions, recognize emotional reactions, consider alternative viewpoints, and develop healthier thinking habits. The application promotes realistic optimism rather than forced positivity, helping users recognize that their first interpretation is not necessarily the only possible interpretation.
The system follows a modular architecture with essential capabilities implemented in core modules and additional functionality available through optional plugin modules.
Design Principles
- Self-Awareness: Help users understand their thoughts, emotions, interpretations, and reactions.
- Realistic Optimism: Encourage positive perspectives without dismissing genuine difficulties or uncomfortable emotions.
- Perspective Flexibility: Present multiple plausible interpretations instead of treating an initial assumption as established fact.
- Empathetic Interaction: Respond with compassion, encouragement, and respect for individual experiences.
- User Autonomy: Allow users to evaluate suggestions and decide which interpretations are reasonable.
- Privacy by Design: Minimize data collection and give users meaningful control over personal reflections and emotional information.
- Modularity: Keep core capabilities independent while allowing optional modules to extend the application.
- Accessibility: Provide an inclusive, understandable, and accessible experience for users with different needs and preferences.
- Transparency: Clearly communicate AI limitations, uncertainty, and the distinction between possible interpretations and known facts.
- Responsible AI: Avoid harmful assumptions, manipulative encouragement, and responses that minimize legitimate concerns.
