OutcomeAtlas

AI Degrees, Real Outcomes.

OutcomeAtlas is an open-source, community-driven education transparency and research platform designed to document the true financial costs and real-world career outcomes of computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and related university degrees. The platform gives graduates a place to voluntarily submit their complete educational expenses, including tuition, university fees, housing, textbooks, equipment, scholarships, grants, and student loan obligations. By collecting comprehensive financial records directly from graduates, OutcomeAtlas aims to establish a detailed picture of what students actually invest in obtaining technology-related degrees, particularly at universities heavily invested in artificial intelligence research, development, and education.

Beyond educational expenses, OutcomeAtlas tracks what happens after graduation. Contributors can document employment status, time spent searching for work, starting salaries, career progression, job relevance, underemployment, unemployment, and additional training required to obtain employment. The platform also collects university recruitment materials, advertised career opportunities, employment placement statistics, and institutional representations about future technology careers. These records can be examined alongside graduate experiences to identify differences between institutional expectations and reported employment outcomes. Longitudinal tracking allows researchers to examine how graduates fare six months, one year, three years, and five years after completing their degrees.

OutcomeAtlas provides an extensive research and analytics environment featuring university and degree comparisons, educational return-on-investment calculations, student debt analysis, salary comparisons, employment trends, and interactive geographic visualizations. Its public research tools allow students, graduates, journalists, economists, and policymakers to examine outcomes across universities, academic programs, and graduation cohorts. Additional capabilities include evidence and document verification, anonymous graduate submissions, privacy protections, public data exports, research APIs, and AI-assisted analysis of curricula, institutional marketing, and changing workforce requirements. Optional plugin modules can extend the platform with external employment statistics, economic intelligence, university marketing archives, independent research workspaces, and graduate career tracking.

OutcomeAtlas is designed to remain an independently deployable, transparent, and community-driven public resource. Its mission is to give students and graduates greater visibility into the relationship between the cost of higher education, institutional career representations, and actual workforce opportunities in an increasingly AI-driven economy. By building a comprehensive, evidence-based database from the experiences and records of graduates themselves, OutcomeAtlas seeks to make education outcomes measurable, institutional representations examinable, and the financial consequences of pursuing technology degrees visible to everyone.
