The system integrates an AI operator layer (via Phonic) that can answer calls, interpret intent, screen unknown callers, and decide how each call should be handled in real time. This allows PrivateSwitch to act like a modern version of a human receptionist—filtering spam, prioritizing important contacts, and even engaging in basic conversational triage before routing the call. Each number can have its own personality, rules, and routing behavior, making it suitable for personal use, families, or small offices.
