Protego is an open-source, AI-powered browser privacy and security platform built to make online protection effortless for everyday users. Designed to work across major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Safari, Protego acts as an intelligent defense layer between users and the modern web. Its mission is simple: give people real control over their digital privacy without requiring advanced technical knowledge or endless manual configuration.

At its core, Protego combines AI-assisted analysis with privacy-first browser protections to detect and neutralize invasive tracking, unsafe browser extensions, deceptive cookie systems, and intrusive advertising. Instead of relying on static blocking alone, Protego adapts dynamically to changing website behavior and extension activity. The platform can identify suspicious scripts, excessive permissions, hidden network requests, and common fingerprinting techniques while helping preserve normal site functionality and usability.

One of Protego’s most powerful features is its intelligent cookie and consent management system. Modern websites often use confusing consent banners and dark-pattern interfaces to push users into accepting extensive tracking. Protego reads consent prompts, analyzes linked privacy policies, and safely responds on behalf of the user by rejecting non-essential tracking while allowing only required functionality.
