RenderSmith is a modular visual world system designed to turn AI-generated images and video into structured, persistent creative infrastructure. Instead of treating outputs as one-off media, RenderSmith decomposes approved scenes into reusable, named assets that retain identity across time, scenes, and environments. Each asset becomes part of a larger world graph, allowing creators to build continuous, expandable worlds rather than isolated visuals.
At its core, RenderSmith introduces a human-in-the-loop approval system that locks in visual intent before it becomes part of the system. Once approved, scenes are broken down into individual components such as characters, objects, environments, and architectural elements. These components are then converted into persistent assets with both 2D and 3D representations, semantic metadata, and structured relationships that define how they exist within the world.
One of RenderSmith’s defining features is its asset identity system. Users can name assets, create versions, and define inheritance relationships that allow variations without losing canonical structure. This ensures that characters, objects, and environments remain consistent even as they evolve across different worlds or contexts. Assets can also be reused and injected into entirely new scenes while preserving their identity and visual coherence.
RenderSmith also supports modular world building through a block-based expansion system. Worlds are composed of interconnected spatial segments that can be extended indefinitely, allowing for continuous environments such as walkable cities or evolving landscapes. A global rule system ensures stylistic and structural consistency, while procedural variation introduces uniqueness within those constraints.
To support scalability and interoperability, RenderSmith includes compression and latent storage systems, semantic and visual search, full provenance tracking, and export capabilities for external tools and engines. Together, these features transform RenderSmith into a persistent visual operating system where scenes are no longer endpoints, but entry points into structured, reusable, and continuously expanding worlds.
This specification is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0+) and may be used freely with required attribution under Section 7. A Specification Branding License is available for attribution-free deployments, with fees based on usage, scope, and deployment size.
