SentinelMesh is an AI governance specification designed to provide intelligent oversight of artificial systems throughout their lifecycle. It creates a modular framework for evaluating AI risk, measuring potential impacts, monitoring system behavior, and supporting transparent decision-making. By combining risk intelligence, safety evaluation, explainability, and governance controls, SentinelMesh provides organizations with a structured approach for understanding and managing increasingly complex AI systems.

The specification is built around a comprehensive risk intelligence framework that evaluates how dangerous an AI system may become based on its capabilities, autonomy, potential impact, vulnerabilities, and deployment environment. SentinelMesh includes safety evaluation capabilities that enable organizations to test AI systems through failure analysis, adversarial testing, boundary testing, and stress evaluation before and after deployment. These capabilities help identify weaknesses and establish appropriate governance requirements.

SentinelMesh also focuses on transparency and accountability through explainability records, system documentation, decision tracking, and audit support. Its AI Impact Assessment Module evaluates broader consequences across social, economic, environmental, accessibility, workforce, and community dimensions. This allows organizations to consider not only technical risks but also the wider effects artificial systems may have on people and society.

Designed as a federated governance framework, SentinelMesh enables shared intelligence between organizations while maintaining distributed oversight. This specification is released under the AGPL-3.0+ license and is free to use with required attribution. Attribution-free deployments may obtain a Specification Branding License, with fees based on usage, deployment scope, and environment size.
