The Better Path is an open source AI specification designed to help people interpret their experiences through the combined lenses of the Stations of the Cross and the Hero’s Journey. Rather than focusing on suffering as an endpoint, it uses these frameworks to understand challenges, recognize transformation, and identify opportunities for moving forward. Its central philosophy is that the next chapter is yours to choose.

The system includes modules for Stations interpretation, Hero’s Journey correlation, personal reflection, mind-at-ease guidance, path selection, mission development, and personal growth. It can help users examine where they are in a journey, distinguish what they can control from what they cannot, consider possible paths, and turn reflection into purposeful action. Optional plugins can extend the system with spiritual traditions, Scripture, theology, philosophy, psychology, comparative mythology, scenario planning, journaling, and community outcome analysis.

The Better Path emphasizes resurrection of the mind as an awakening to new possibilities. It does not glorify unnecessary suffering or self-sacrifice. Instead, it encourages people to learn, level up, define meaningful missions, and pursue sustainable outcomes where personal advancement and societal progress can reinforce one another. The ultimate goal is to help users find a path worth walking, build a future worth pursuing, and discover solutions where everyone has the opportunity to move forward.

This specification is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0+) and is free to use with required attribution under Section 7. Attribution-free deployment is available through a Specification Branding License, with fees based on deployment scope and network size.
