VaultCore OS is an open-source financial intelligence and verification platform designed to serve as a trusted infrastructure layer for understanding federally insured financial institutions in the United States. It continuously monitors and validates banks and credit unions against official regulatory sources, ensuring that every institution in the system is grounded in verifiable data rather than assumptions or outdated listings. The goal is to create a reliable, structured, and transparent financial registry that can be used by both developers and AI systems.

At its core, VaultCore OS maintains a continuously updated database of financial institutions, including their insurance status, regulatory identifiers, and operational status. Institutions are tracked through their entire lifecycle, from active operation to mergers, acquisitions, or closures, with full historical records preserved for auditability. Rather than deleting outdated institutions, the system archives them to maintain a complete and traceable financial history.

On top of this registry layer, VaultCore OS builds a financial product intelligence system that maps banking products such as savings accounts, checking accounts, certificates of deposit, and money market accounts to their respective institutions. Each product can store structured metadata including fees, minimum deposit requirements, eligibility rules, and official source references. Interest rates and APYs are tracked as time-stamped snapshots, allowing the system to maintain historical accuracy and detect changes over time.

The platform also includes a verification and audit engine that cross-checks institutions against regulatory sources such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the National Credit Union Administration, along with state-level departments of banking and insurance. Every verification event is logged, timestamped, and stored, creating a fully auditable trail of institutional validation.

Finally, VaultCore OS integrates an AI-powered intelligence layer that allows users to query the system in natural language. This layer uses retrieval-augmented generation to ensure that all responses are grounded in verified data from the underlying registry. The AI can compare institutions, explain account options, summarize eligibility requirements, and guide users through account setup steps, all while maintaining strict constraints against unverified or hallucinated financial information.
