The Future of Modular Language Intelligence.

Velora is a modular language intelligence platform designed to provide a flexible foundation for understanding, processing, transforming, and generating language. Built around the principle of modularity, Velora allows capabilities to be added, replaced, upgraded, or removed without requiring the entire platform to be redesigned. Its core provides the foundation for language processing, model management, workflows, context, retrieval, validation, and resource coordination, while optional modules can expand Velora into new areas of intelligence and automation.

Velora supports a broad range of language capabilities, including text analysis, classification, summarization, translation, entity recognition, information extraction, semantic search, document intelligence, question answering, text generation, and structured output. It can work with local language models and other interchangeable processing components, allowing users to select capabilities based on their needs, available hardware, language requirements, performance expectations, and desired level of automation. A model and resource management system can monitor available resources, select appropriate models, manage workloads, and provide fallback options when preferred capabilities are unavailable.

At the workflow level, Velora brings these capabilities together into reusable, composable processes. Users can create workflows for document processing, research, analysis, extraction, transformation, retrieval, summarization, classification, and other language-intensive tasks. A natural language workflow builder can help users describe what they want to accomplish and translate those requirements into validated workflows using available modules. Velora also supports context management, memory, retrieval, provenance, validation, confidence assessment, multi-model comparison, human review, and auditability, providing greater visibility into how results are produced and allowing automated processes to remain subject to human oversight.

Velora is designed to grow continuously through an extensible ecosystem of optional modules and providers. Additional language models, embedding systems, rerankers, OCR engines, speech capabilities, translation systems, vision-language capabilities, storage providers, search systems, document processors, automation tools, and specialized intelligence modules can be integrated without changing the fundamental platform. Local-first operation, provider neutrality, user-controlled data, replaceable components, interoperability, and transparent processing help minimize vendor lock-in while preserving freedom of choice. Velora is intended to be a long-term foundation for language intelligence that can evolve alongside new models, new capabilities, new hardware, and new ways of working with intelligent systems.

This specification is released under the AGPL-3.0+ and is free to use with required Section 7 attribution. Organizations seeking attribution-free deployment may obtain a Specification Branding License, with fees based on use and deployment scope.
