Xythera

Machine-Assisted Engineering, Fully Open

Xythera is a modular, AGPL 3.0+ AI engineering platform designed to transform how sensor systems and hardware architectures are understood, created, and built. It combines structured engineering knowledge with generative AI to produce open, reproducible hardware designs that remain grounded in real-world constraints. Rather than functioning as a generic assistant, Xythera operates as a full engineering intelligence system that spans design, validation, visualization, and fabrication guidance.

At its core, Xythera maintains a structured knowledge system for sensors and related hardware components. It organizes data from public and licensed sources into a unified schema that includes technical specifications, environmental constraints, functional categories, and provenance tracking. This allows the system to reason across sensor types and applications, enabling cross-domain discovery and design reuse in robotics, aerospace, industrial systems, and more.

The AI design engine within Xythera generates multiple candidate architectures based on user-defined constraints such as power, cost, accuracy, and operating environment. These designs are not final outputs but structured proposals that pass through an engineering validation layer, which checks feasibility, compatibility, and known failure modes. This ensures that all generated systems remain physically and technically plausible.

Beyond generation, Xythera includes a powerful visualization layer that renders system architectures, signal flows, and dependency graphs, making complex hardware systems easier to understand and analyze. It also features a step-by-step build instruction engine that translates validated designs into practical assembly guides, including bill of materials, wiring instructions, calibration steps, and testing procedures.

Together, these components make Xythera a unified environment for open hardware engineering—combining AI-assisted design, structured validation, visual understanding, and reproducible fabrication into a single extensible system.
