Axis Intelligence
The Quiet Center of a Smarter Home.
Axis Intelligence is an open-source, modular ambient AI platform designed to provide a private, extensible, and user-controlled intelligence layer for the home. The system combines natural voice interaction, AI reasoning, customizable voices, real-time search, spatial audio, memory, media, education, smart home control, and optional environmental awareness.
The specification defines a modular architecture in which each major capability operates as an independent core module or optional plugin module. Modules must be replaceable, extensible, independently configurable, and capable of evolving without requiring fundamental changes to the platform core.
Purpose
Axis Intelligence is intended to provide an alternative to closed commercial voice assistants by giving users control over their intelligent home environment.
The system should support local-first operation, user-controlled data, transparent processing, modular expansion, multi-user environments, and hardware that can be upgraded rather than replaced.
