Humanity’s First Solar Data Layer
HelioLink is a space-based, solar-powered AI infrastructure system designed to extend compute beyond the limits of Earth. It operates as a modular orbital network where energy, computation, and cooling are co-designed for the space environment rather than adapted from terrestrial data center models. Instead of relying on grid electricity and water-based cooling, HelioLink directly converts continuous solar energy into distributed computational capacity in orbit.
At its core, HelioLink is built around five integrated layers: energy harvesting, radiation-hardened compute, radiative thermal management, orbital networking, and autonomous AI control. Solar arrays provide continuous power in orbit, while high-voltage distribution systems route energy across modular compute nodes. Each node is designed as an independent unit that can be added, replaced, or upgraded without disrupting the wider system.
Thermal management is handled entirely through space-native radiative systems. Large deployable radiator structures dissipate heat into deep space, eliminating the constraints of atmospheric cooling. This allows compute density to scale based on radiator capacity rather than water availability or climate conditions, fundamentally changing how large-scale AI infrastructure can be designed.
HelioLink also includes a distributed communications layer using laser-based optical links and redundant RF systems to connect orbital nodes with Earth-based infrastructure. This network enables high-bandwidth data exchange while maintaining resilience through mesh-based routing and orbital topology awareness.
A defining feature of HelioLink is its Autonomous AI Survival Layer, which manages system health without human intervention. It handles workload distribution, fault detection, predictive failure modeling, and self-healing operations across all modules. This allows the system to degrade gracefully, reconfigure itself under stress, and maintain continuous operation in the harsh conditions of space.
