Built with a modular architecture, StoryWeaver separates core functionality into independent components including the Skill Registry, Skill Runtime, Federation Layer, Privacy Module, Human-in-the-Loop Consent System, Age Rating Module, Theme Engine, Authentication, Storage, and AI Connectors. This allows individuals, organizations, and communities to deploy StoryWeaver in a way that matches their needs, whether running a fully local private installation, a hybrid environment, or a large-scale cloud deployment.

StoryWeaver places users in control through privacy-first design, granular permissions, and human approval workflows. Agents can request access to skills, data, and external services while users maintain authority over sensitive actions. This specification is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0+) and may be used freely with required attribution. Attribution-free deployments require a Specification Branding License, with fees based on usage, scope, and deployment size.
