TrustTip addresses this by linking every tip directly to specific content, along with structured metadata that records intent, classification, and provenance.

At its core, TrustTip transforms informal digital appreciation into verifiable financial records. Each tip is tied to a specific post, video, stream moment, or digital asset, ensuring that every transaction has a clear source. Users can optionally provide a reason for the tip, which is then standardized into structured categories such as content appreciation, educational value, or sponsorship intent. Beyond simple tracking, TrustTip functions as an audit-grade ledger system. Every transaction is stored in an append-only record structure that preserves historical integrity and supports exportable reports. These records can be used for accounting workflows, tax preparation, and compliance review, offering creators and professionals a reliable way to reconcile income across multiple platforms. The system also supports dual classification, combining user-declared intent with system-inferred categorization to improve accuracy and flag inconsistencies when needed.

TrustTip also includes a creator dashboard, reputation system, and analytics layer that provides insight into income composition, supporter behavior, and content performance. Optional features such as transparency modes, support graphs, and fraud detection tools allow for deeper visibility into how digital support flows through the ecosystem. This specification is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0+) and may be used freely with required attribution under Section 7. A Specification Branding License is available for attribution-free deployments, with fees based on usage, scope, and deployment size.
