StatuteMind
Where Law Meets AI Precision
Overview
StatuteMind is an open-source, modular legal compliance framework designed to integrate with any large language model (LLM) and ensure that AI-generated responses remain aligned with applicable laws and regulations.
The framework evaluates responses against a hierarchical legal model that includes:
- National constitutions and statutory law
- State or provincial constitutions and statutes
- County and regional regulations where applicable
- Local and municipal ordinances
StatuteMind is built around one core principle:
AI systems should never encourage, instruct, or facilitate unlawful activity. When a requested action conflicts with the law, the system should provide lawful alternatives, educational guidance, and legal pathways for pursuing change through legitimate processes.
The framework is entirely modular, allowing jurisdictions, compliance engines, and specialized legal domains to be enabled, disabled, or extended independently.
